I request the arab leaders who have the diplomatic relations with the izraeel to terminate it now, and to boycott the products of them as well . and not giving entrance to izraeel citizens to any muslim country until they stop the war.

What really gets to me is the ignorance of the Western world. They have been brainwashed by the Zionist propaganda.

Israelis ask the world to forget about the history and look for the future. Well, Palestinians can't really do that now, can they? They have been quite forcefully kicked out from their homelands (1948,1964,1967). In fact, Palestinians still do not have a state. Israel always talk about how Arabs or Muslims don't want them to exist, when Israel do not consider a Palestinian state.

On Aljazeera English tonight I heard an Israeli women claiming that Israelis are not dramatic and do not make a big deal when their people are killed. She goes further stating that Israeli women do not shout and cry on like Arab women. Firstly, this comment is not only racist towards Arabs but also she decides to ignore the fact that during the past 8 years only 18 Israelis have been killed from Hamas' Qassam rockets.

Another interesting fact; Israel has not obeyed more than 60 UN resolutions against it, where Saddam's regime obeyed all 15 resolutions. It seems that Israel is above International law.

These are questions I'd like to ask the Israelis (not that any Israelis would actually be reading this)

1. Why does Israel still occupy Palestinian lands? Israelis themselves agree that these are Occupied Territories, i.e. not theirs.

2. Why construct a blockade around Gaza?

3. Why don't they actually use their so-called advanced military technologies in targeting Hamas militants rather than using indiscriminate warfare?

4. Why broadcast on the news time and time again that it was Hamas that broke the ceasefire when quite clearly Israelis carried out assaults in Gaza in November 2008?

5. Finally, as descendants of the Holocaust victims, why don't they realize that they are doing the same to innocent Palestinians.

I like to conclude that I do agree that Israel does have a right to exist. But it needs to hold talks with Hamas and at least give back Palestinians part of their.

First ever real protest in Maldives against Israeli oppression in Palestinian territories.

You would have noticed that in my previous comment I never said anything about Jews (except their link to the Holocaust). This is by intention because I think this conflict is much more than Jewish-Muslim hatred. This is about basic human rights; your right to belong to a viable nation.

Israel is a Zionist state, which, according to most Rabbis is against Judaism. However Judaism has always been linked with Zionism, much like Islam nowadays is linked with terrorism.

I don't think the Hamas or any other militant group in Palestine want to get rid of Jews. In fact before Israel was formed, Jews and Muslims lived together in harmony. Palestinians just want to get back what is rightfully theirs. For example, it is well known that East Jerusalem has always been for the Arabs.

I think the media sometime portrays the situation as if it only began 3 weeks ago when Hamas started firing rockets into Southern Israel. However, this started in 1948 when Palestinians were kicked out from their land.

Ask yourself this, if your grand parents were kicked out from a part of the Maldives and the next generation of your father and yourself had to live as refugees for more than 60 years, would you not want to get back the rights that have been quite forcefully taken away from you? Would you just accept the fact that it's in the past and move on? Remember, that Gaza is effectively a refugee camp. It is NOT an urban city.

However, I do not agree with the Hamas' way of dealing with the situation. Firing rockets onto innocent Israeli population. There must be a better and smarter way to deal with Israel rather than resorting to violence. Unfortunately, it is difficult for us to even imagine what Palestinians would go through and the firing of rockets might be an irrational consequence of this.

So to anyone who thinks that I'm bashing Jews, I'm not. I'm merely talking in terms of human rights. You do not have to be a Jew or a Muslim or a person of any other religion for that matter to realise the oppression and atrocities committed towards the Palestinians. You just have to be a human being.

Your powerful images put a glimmer of goodness into a dreadful situation - because it is good to learn that others care enough to make a noise against it. I'm left speechless day by day as I see the destruction and pain, and hear the statements being made on behalf of the Israeli government.

In Ahmed's comment he says many things I agree with - but please don't believe that "the West" is ignorant of the truth. (Though I'm embarrassed because we in Britain are partly responsible for the way it began in 1947.)

I for one have not bought products from Israel for about 18 years. I am one of many who feel deeply distressed by the way the people of Palestine have been robbed of land that has been in their families for millennia, many generations back, and have been brutalised, dehumanised, pillaged, caged and bullied.

I pray daily for change - change for the caged and for the tormentors.

A little justice for Palestinians over the past 60 years - my entire life time - and the rockets red glare and bombs bursting in air would not be happening yet again. I pity the Palestinians and the Israelis. And we in the us are not doing Israel any favors by enabling them to place a siege on Gaza, create a humanitarian crisis, and use our f-16s to bomb an unprotected population of 1.4 million in 140 square miles. Talk about shooting fish in a barrel. it is disgusting and a war crime. God help us he won't be able to forgive us until we stop. Give the Palestinians some justice, make amends to them, compensate them for stealing their land out from under them. And live with them in peace - stop driving them into the sea.

Hamas wants all Jewish people dead. Is that what you want? They also want Americans dead. They don't want peace. They want them dead. So what should Jews do. Shoot themselves in the head. Jews did not start this. And if they quit now Hamas will still keep trying to kill them. I hope Israel does not stop till Hamas is defeated. If they stop now they only give Hamas time to acquire deadlier weapons. It is not the Israelis fault that Hamas brought a knife to a gun fight. If someone was sending rockets into your state would you not fight back????

To the Anonymous poster above: Get your facts right. No where in Hamas' mission does it state that they want to kill Jews. Their aim is to get rid of the state of Israel and establish a single state. Unfortunately, Israel is a Zionist state, with the majority of people being Jewish. The reasons why they want to get rid of Israel was explained in my earlier posts.

I have to state that I do not support nor agree with Hamas. Killing of innocent civilians, wherever they may be, can never be justified. I also voice against antisemitism. It appears to me that Hamas has some nationalistic elements in their ideology. This conflicts with Islamic teachings, as it is against nationalism.

Back to the main point of these protests. These protests are not trying to support Hamas, nor is it trying to justify killing of Jews. It is rather aimed to voice against the aggression of Israel and the unequivocal support of the United States for Israel.

To Gill: I apologize for the generalization. I should have said majority of Westerners. I'm actually in the United Kingdom myself and on the rare occasions I do bring up the issue of Israel-Palestine conflict I always get the same response from my English friends. According to them, in order to survive, Israel has every right to have nuclear weapons and attack neighboring countries. And this is how the media here portrays Israel as (most of the reports anyway).

Here is an interesting article written by Avi Shlaim, who is a professor of international relations at the University of Oxford, UK. He is also an Israeli and served in the Israeli army in the 1960's.

Jews started all by making Israel within all the Arabic countries... They will never belong to the Arabs but they are trying to kill Muslims... Hamas has every right to send rockets to Israel and make Palestine a free country..OK!
