Tourism in Maldives

Tourism began in the Maldives in the 1900s. A UN mission visited in the development of the Maldives in 1960 did not recommend the tourism, saying that the islands are not adequate.   1. If the UN mission that inspected the islands in the 60s invested in a hotel back then, they will reap millions of dollars in profit by now. Maldives will always be one of the top island destinations.
